Thanks, Frans. I did put this mail in my TODO list to have a look at it. It's probably worth being committed, of course. Despite the arguments we might have about the option being useful or not (I share Steve's feeling that, if ppl feel the need to disable "Install-Recommends", this is most often because the use of Recommends is wrong in many packages), offerring it to our users, as long as it doesn't break existing behaviour, is worth it. Getting Otavio's advice here would be worth it, of course, as D-I RM....as well as Joey Hess one, with the tasksel maintainer hat.
