Hello! I'm having trouble with booting today's amd64 netinst image: it hangs already after partition detection, when booting the kernel, before the Debian installer starts. You can find a photograph on <http://www.thomas.schwinge.homeip.net/tmp/a/pic_0004.jpg>. I reproduced this with all of the following images: 20090813-3, 20090813-1, 20090812-7, and 20090812-5.
Skipping a few versions; on a try with 20090531-7 I do get to load the Debian installer, but that one has a problem on its own: a segfault in libresolv.so when configuring the network, see <http://www.thomas.schwinge.homeip.net/tmp/a/pic_0006.jpg> (fourth line). Max Vozeler (mvz on #debian-boot) told me that this is a known issue. The booting problem is a regression, as booting works fine with the older image. I'm willing to help locating / fixing it, if you tell me what to try. Using the 180 MiB image instead of the 40 MiB one doesn't make a difference. The machine is a standard Fujitsu Siemens ESPRIMO E5600. Regards, Thomas
