Thanks for offerint to help. Here are some questions: Can you check the output of the 'locale' command on tty1 and tty2? Are you able to type accents after 'cat >/dev/null'? Which of the following packages are installed and what version: 'kbd', 'console-tools', 'console-data' and 'console-tools'?
