Initially I used the Lenny installer from September 2008 (was the one on the disk and worked fine until now). I then changed to the official Debian 5.0 stable installer. Used the netboot image from http://ftp.ch.debian.org/debian/dists/Debian5.0/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/netboot.tar.gz But forgot the sync the new image to our second DHCP/TFTP server. And the machine seemed to have always booted from there. So that's why d-i mirror/suite select stable d-i mirror/codename string lenny in the preseeding file got ignored initially (while the normal non-preseeded installation worked anyway) and brought this d-i/libc6 issue to the daylight. > - the installer you used is glibc 2.7 based, and a copy of glibc 2.9 is > extracted over it without any check. As we already found out in IRC, that's what happens.
