I can't speak for Frans' who leads the maintenance of i-g (this not to say that he maintains it alone which is the real truth), but as this patch comes very late in the release process, I'm unsure about it doing its way to the installation guide. So, not judging on the final decision, I think it should be better if you send this as a bug report against installation-guide. (the same stands for the typo in the Japanese translation, though that one can probably be corrected by another upload)
