Some bits of our hardware the installer wanted us to provide a module for. However, it did not say for which. When ignoring it, it could not find the ethernet card. The bug I am reporting is that not sufficient information is given for the user to chase things up. A URL should be given at least to learn more about what to do at this situation. Some guesswork on what driver is missing would be helpful, too, if available somewhere. Since the ethernet card is rather well established, I don't think this is the real culprit. The machine was sold as SuSE and Redhat supported. No Debian, I hence ordered it blank. Ubuntu install seamlessly.
