-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello Fellows,
We are near of Debian Lenny release and we do need to run to not be late on its schedule. Here goes the planned timeline: +-------------------+----------------------------------------------+ | Date | What happe | +-------------------+----------------------------------------------+ |August 28, 2008 |translation update request is send | +-------------------+----------------------------------------------+ |September 21, 2008 |mass upload of translation updates | +-------------------+----------------------------------------------+ |September 21, 2008 |kernel, modules and their udebs hitted testing| +-------------------+----------------------------------------------+ |September 25, 2008 |mass migration of udebs | +-------------------+----------------------------------------------+ |September 27, 2008 |debian-installer is uploaded | +-------------------+----------------------------------------------+ |October 3, 2008 |final image builds | +-------------------+----------------------------------------------+ |October 5, 2008 |planned release date | +-------------------+----------------------------------------------+ Releases at: October 5, 2008 Needed days: 38 For the ones who are looking carefully, will notice that we are not going to have a period of testing of images. That is going to be done since we'll change, for this release, the way we'll be doing tests. Since Lenny and installer are frozen, the number of changes are rather small and dailies and weekly builds will be taken as testing images. A call for testing will be send to debian-devel-announce and beta2 images will be deprecated on installer webpage. Doing that, any noticed bug or regression will be fixed and tested fastly and give us more speed at this final stage of development of Lenny installer. We need that sparc porters do the upload of 2.6.26 kernel packages. The alpha, hppa, ia64, s390 and sparc porters need to upload the modules packages too so we have the whole installer up to date regarting the kernel support. Once 2.6.26-4 binaries gets installed in all architectures, I'll do a massupload and send the call for testing.
