Sorry for not getting back to you sooner; my internet has been down
for a while and won't be back until at least Wednesday. I tested the
second image you posted and I had an install with no problems, however
when I did wait=10 it also worked, and when I checked the syslog there
were no megaraid waiting messages so I suspect the .25 kernel fixed
that bug. This is also consistent with the fact that when entering
the partition menu the system pauses for a significant amount of time,
which I suspect is due to the driver initialization happening behind
the scenes.
I can't check a regular install image to see if I'm right until my
internet is back up. I appreciate the effort you put in especially
since you'll probably be frustrated that it (probably) wasn't needed.
