I am sorting old bug reports and the issue you described as been tagged
"unreproducible". This means that no developers managed to reproduce
this issue on their own computers.
Geert-Jan and Henry, if you still have access to the hardware on which
you encountered this problem, could you please download and test a
recent debian-installer image (netboot mini.iso will be enough) and tell
us if the wrong interface is still selected?
(As network configuration is donne pretty early, you don't have to go
very far in the installation process…)
