Quick update. Just tested with upstream 2.6.26-rc9 kernel and ath5k. Only in a normal system, not the installer. Some previously failing scenarios now work, and WEP works as well. Impression is that the behavior of the ath5k driver is a lot more consistent now with what netcfg expects and that the installer may well work a lot better for me now. That's next on the agenda. Both Glenn and I still feel that there is a lot of room for improvement in the general structure of wireless code in netcfg which should make it a lot less susceptible to deviations in behavior between drivers.
