Howdy,
This bug laments that dbootstrap presents the boot partition,
rather than the root partition, as the location for installing
LILO if they are different. I tried this on my machine, and LILO
was able to boot from this setup just fine. So I think this bug
report should be closed.
That is to say, I now have the following setup:
/dev/hda MBR installed here
/dev/hda1 /boot LILO installed here
/dev/hda2 /
/dev/hdb1 swap
/dev/hdb2 old /home hierarchy
It boots fine.
