Installing on raid system.

Hi guys. Does the installation process for debian support installing on to a raid 
setup?
I'm wanting to do software raid with a couple of drives and I'm wondering if I can 
install directly on to the system like this or do I have ot install on to a partition 
on one of the drives and then mount the raid set some place and just do data storage 
on to this.
