I've had a go at doing things automatically (well, almost) in the simplest way.
Just write a script to install, and put it in
/sbin/dbootstrap
of root.bin
# no, this is a gross hack.
This is how I made a live CD-Rom (which runs a Debian system from CD-Rom).
Configurator to configure and generate a script to install might be handy.
We have a great rescue-floppy, and it is rather trivial to write a script
to make a custom rescue-floppy.
Knowing the target machine to install, it is possible.
dpkg -i /cdrom/*.deb
is a very good installer, if we selectively put package files onto a CD-Rom.

junichi
