Oh, btw, another workaround would be to temporarily move the hdg to your internal udma33 controller, install to that, then move it back to hdh position, boot from the rescue disk (with 'rescue root=/dev/hdh1' or whatever), then adjust /etc/lilo.conf and re-run lilo.
