Using cfdisk to remove the adjacent partitions hda5 and hda7 and create a
new partition, all the partition names were reordered. This is ok I guess,
except that it insisted on having 2 hda6'es!
I tried exiting cfdisk and entering again, but the same operation gave
the same result. Since I did not have any critical data on the drive I
decided to try to write the result to disk. The result was that it deleted
one of my other partitions that I had not told it to do anything with.
The partitions were created with the mandrake partitioner. apart from hda5 and hda7 I
had 2 small primary partitions (hda1, hda3) and 3 other partitions, one of which was
named hda6 I think (which I though were strange since hda5, hda7
were adjacent)
