Please test with 2.2.16 boot-floppies and report success or failure.
If you still have failure, more information is needed:
- what kernel output is generated if any when you try to get the
module loaded?
- are you able to load the module manually, i.e., from tty2?
- what kernel set are you using? (vanilla, idepci, compact, udma66)
