Hi folks,

I am one of the maintainers of sosreport, and now maintaining sos in
unstable and testing. I am also maintaining the package in Ubuntu on all
stable/supported platforms.

The essence of sosreport is to be able to grab diagnostic data from a
machine for support personnel to grab.

Now, I've not had a request to backport sosreport but, I think it makes
sense as multiple new plugins have been added since 4.0 that can be now
used to grab any diagnostic data.

I have both bookworm-backports and bullseye-backports branched in my salsa
repo which come through the salsa CI cleanly
https://salsa.debian.org/arif-ali/sosreport.

The only issues I found while going through the sbuild locally was the
lintian issues that I have resolved in the repo, and one main one with the
man pages with spaces. Seems like bullseye did not support that.

If this sounds good, then I would like to start to upload and maintain the
backports as well. I'll await some thoughts on this before proceeding with
an upload to mentors.

TiA

regards,
Arif
