Hi Paul,
That's the real problem.  There was an announcement that support for the 
SS4000E was being dropped following squeeze.  I think that it had something to 
do with the CPU: maybe the lack of a coprocessor.  There is no installer for 
the iop32x in jessie.  So, squeeze is it.

You have the option of switching to Debian jessie though (I guess?).
