May be changing default mode into /etc/default/rcS will do the trick.

# automatically repair filesystems with inconsistencies during boot
#FSCKFIX=no
FSCKFIX=yes

A better way would be to get a script started instead of maintenance mode.
Plug and NAS do not like interactive boot failure.
