I checked the script and it does in fact do: if [ ! -e /usr/sbin/debootstrap ]; then mkdir /tmp/debootstrap cd /tmp/debootstrap wget -O debootstrap.deb $URL_DEBOOTSTRAP ar xv debootstrap.deb So you would have to delete /usr/sbin/debootstrap manually before running it again to get it to download a new version.
