After having installed linux-image-2.6.32-5-kirkwood version 2.6.32-38 on my Sheevaplug, suddenly my connected USB drive would not spin up correctly when targeted.
Well, it turned out to be a coincidence. The Sheevaplug power supply only delivered 4.3V and disk spinup probably caused even more undervoltage. Why 2.6.32-35squeeze2 seemed to improve things - maybe because the Sheevaplug had been powered off for a while by then.
So: please ignore my nonsense ;-) , 2.6.32-38 is fine. (Or maybe it detects faulty power supplies more effectively).
