I understand from Genesi who are lookging at the iMX53 for the next gen of their netbook/smarttop devices that the video performance is _much_ better than the iMX51. That's about all I know currently > I guess that since it's from > Freescale all the great new Linaro stuff should just work lovely and smoothly, > shouldn't it Wookey? It should but Frescale are coming from behind in terms of sorting out their kernels and community interaction. The whole iMX51 thing was a disaster area for quite some time. I gather that that is all now being sorted out, but as a result the OMAP stuff has been much better fettled and tested. Freescale are doing the right thing with Linaro though, and there is now a 'landing team' doing sterling work. Looks like some stuff has been released: https://launchpad.net/linaro-landing-team-freescale/trunk/m1 and they are a few days late with m2. As to exactly what is/isn't working in the released images I sugest asking on the linaro-dev channel/list.
