Just a quick note: I played around with this device quite a bit, and it didn't happen again. Since the process was moving root fs from this disk to a RAID on two others it might be a only slightly bad disk (I'll sure do some nasty burn in testing of that disk) or a rare kernel bug that I didn't trigger anymore. cheers -- vbi -- Wibble.
