At least hdparm shows significantly better performance compared to
2.6.26-dma:

With 2.6.30:
qnap:~# hdparm -tT /dev/sda
/dev/sda:
 Timing cached reads: 198 MB in 2.01 seconds = 98.33 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads: 128 MB in 3.02 seconds = 42.35 MB/sec

With 2.6.26-dma, the numbers were about 80 and 30 MB/sec.

Unfortunately, I have no gigabit hardware at home to test network
performance, maybe I can do some more tests in the office.
