Install debian 4.0 + LAMP +Samba on NSLU2. The debian is in a 2GB flashdrive attached to USB1 port. They work well.
A usb harddrive is pluged to USB 2 port. The enclosure uses cypress USB/ Oxford 1394 chipsets. HDD is maxtor 200GB IDE, formated as NTFS with my windowsXP. The usb HDD was detected by Debian installer. But now the disk2 LED of NSLU2 is off. How to get it work under Debian? Can I use NTFS in Debain/NSLU2? Can I fdisk it into 2 partations, one for mldonkey, one for other use. Can I use a USB hub to attach two HDD to USB2. thanks Here is fstab # /etc/fstab: static file system information. # # <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass> proc /proc proc defaults 0 0 /dev/sda1 / ext3 defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1 /dev/sda5 none swap sw 0 0 /dev/sda1 /media/usb0 auto rw,user, noauto 0 0 /dev/sda5 /media/usb1 auto rw,user, noauto 0 0 /dev/sdb1 /media/usb2 auto rw,user, noauto 0 0 # UNCONFIGURED FSTAB FOR BASE SYSTEM and the dmesg ........................ usb usb1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice hub 1-0:1.0: USB hub found hub 1-0:1.0: 3 ports detected PCI: enabling device 0000:00:01.1 (0140 -> 0142) ohci_hcd 0000:00:01.1: OHCI Host Controller ohci_hcd 0000:00:01.1: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 2 ohci_hcd 0000:00:01.1: irq 27, io mem 0x48001000 usb usb2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice hub 2-0:1.0: USB hub found hub 2-0:1.0: 2 ports detected PCI: enabling device 0000:00:01.2 (0140 -> 0142) ehci_hcd 0000:00:01.2: EHCI Host Controller ehci_hcd 0000:00:01.2: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 3 ehci_hcd 0000:00:01.2: irq 26, io mem 0x48002000 ehci_hcd 0000:00:01.2: USB 2.0 started, EHCI 1.00, driver 10 Dec 2004 usb usb3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice hub 3-0:1.0: USB hub found hub 3-0:1.0: 5 ports detected usb 3-1: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2 usb 3-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice SCSI subsystem initialized Initializing USB Mass Storage driver... usb 3-2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3 usb 3-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice scsi0 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices usb-storage: device found at 2 usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning scsi1 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices usbcore: registered new driver usb-storage USB Mass Storage support registered. usb-storage: device found at 3 usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning Vendor: Flash Model: Drive UT_USB20 Rev: 0.00 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Vendor: Maxtor 6 Model: L200P0 Rev: 0000 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 00 usb-storage: device scan complete usb-storage: device scan complete SCSI device sda: 4030463 512-byte hdwr sectors (2064 MB) sda: Write Protect is off sda: Mode Sense: 00 00 00 00 sda: assuming drive cache: write through SCSI device sda: 4030463 512-byte hdwr sectors (2064 MB) sda: Write Protect is off sda: Mode Sense: 00 00 00 00 sda: assuming drive cache: write through sda: sda1 sda2 < sda5 > sd 0:0:0:0: Attached scsi removable disk sda SCSI device sdb: 398297088 512-byte hdwr sectors (203928 MB) sdb: Write Protect is off sdb: Mode Sense: 27 00 00 00 sdb: assuming drive cache: write through SCSI device sdb: 398297088 512-byte hdwr sectors (203928 MB) sdb: Write Protect is off sdb: Mode Sense: 27 00 00 00 sdb: assuming drive cache: write through sdb: sdb1 sdb2 sd 1:0:0:0: Attached scsi disk sdb EXT3-fs: INFO: recovery required on readonly filesystem.
