Yes, that was deliberate. The various subarchitectures need slightly different root disks, and very different drivers, so the files have to be further separated out. Your old 2.2r0 CD predates this stuff, and only has support for one platform. Thanks for testing. It's good to hear that it does work on a non-StrongARM machine. p.
