Whether that's a consequence of being built on 2.4 or something new in GCC that relies on 2.4 behaviour, I don't know. (I haven't built 2.2.18 yet, but I will check on that). Futher to this, the latest inetd fails to work on 2.2 (again I need to check on 2.2.18). It reports: 'getrlimit: Function not implemented' when it starts up.
