When I upgraded this morning, apache2 now fails to start. I end up with
one apache2 process (instead of the number of children specified in
conf) which doesn't accept any http connections. It also doesn't die
when I try /etc/init.d/apache2 stop, and I'm forced to kill it manually.
It shows up in ps aux like this:

If I downgrade to 2.0.49-2, I'm able to start up successfully:
