I have my IP address and hostname in /etc/hosts. dig -x responds properly. Further, I have ServerName set to localhost in both my main server configration, and in my default virtual host configuration (I am using virtual hosts). I don't know if this helps, but I enabled debug logging, and I get the following line in my error log, repeated many times, over a period of several minutes: [Tue Feb 24 11:05:07 2004] [debug] /usr/src/apache2/upload/apache2-2.0.48/build-tree/apache2/server/mpm/experimental/perchild/perchild.c(1793): Determining if request should be passed. Child Num: 1, SD: 16, sd from table: 16, hostname from server: localhost Thanks for helping me look into this.
