Tu problema no es especifico de amd64 por lo que te recomiendo la lista de usuarios de debian en español... http://www.debian.org/international/Spanish#listas El sistema gráfico se llama X y para tu mother board (ATI Radeon 3000) necesitas instalar los drivers radeon/ati y si quieres aceleración grafica necesitas los drivers fglrx...
