I am happy to report that with the recent Tyan S2875 BIOS version 3.03 (released 06/07/06) I was able to get all 4GB available for the system. All that needs to be done in BIOS Setup is to set MTRR mode to Discrete and enable Software Memory Hole. Previously such settings led to system crashes as soon as applications tried to use high memory regions. Now everything seems to work stable.
