I too have used the LSI cards and the sym53c8xx drivers on 64-bit alphas. Are you using this card on an amd64 (or should I even ask given this is the amd64 mailing list).
Also, another interesting finding today wrt Adaptec. Going to the Adaptec web site I find the following: aic79xx 2.0.15 9/15/2005 - [ 1.3.11 7/11/2003 is in 2.6.14.3 kernel ] aic7xxx 6.3.11 12/23/2004 - [7.0 8/4/2005 is in 2.6.14.3 kernel ] If I patch these drivers (from Adaptec) over to the 2.6.14.3 kernel source, it will not compile. So, which is the most current ?
