Hi, My system is Debian unstable pure64 running on k8, customized kernel 2.6.11. My vmware workstation version is 5.0.0-13124.
After install and run vmware-config.pl, it displays: /usr/bin/ldd: line 145: /lib/ld-linux.so.2: No such file or directory ldd: /lib/ld-linux.so.2 exited with unknown exit code (127) and some virtual network adaptor cannot be up. It displays like: Starting VMware services: Virtual machine monitor done Virtual ethernet done Bridged networking on /dev/vmnet0 failed Host-only networking on /dev/vmnet8 (background) done NAT service on /dev/vmnet8 failed and /usr/bin/vmware cannot start either. If run "/usr/bin/vmnet-netifup", it displays "No such file or directory", but it does exist. I think this binary file is not 64-bit ,so cannot be executed. I checked /lib directory and only found ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 -> ld-2.3.2.so . So I made another symbol link ld-linux.so.2 -> ld-2.3.2.so in /lib. This time when I run vmware-config.pl, the message "/lib/ld-linux.so.2: No such file or directory" disappeared, but the network adaptors vmnet0 and vmnet8 still failed to be up. And when run "/usr/bin/vmnet-netifup", it displayed "Accessing a corrupted shared library". So I suspect this problem is related with the libarary "ld-linux.so.2". I also tried vmware-any-any-update90, but it did not have any effect on this problem. Could anyone give me some suggestions? Thanks a lot!
