Actually, I should have said that "de2104x" was known to fail on those machines (AS250/AS500/Multia) that have a builtin 21040 (old/original) TULIP. The "tulip" driver gets used for 21140 and 21142/21143 (the 10/100 capable chips). PCI IDs are as follows: chip ID Comment ---- ---- ------- 21040 0002 original TULIP, 10BT only 21041 0014 TULIP "plus", also 10BT only 21140 0009 TULIP "fast", 10/100 BT capable 21142 0019 10/100 capable, appeared only on-board some MIATAs, IIRC 21143 0019 10/100 capable, appeared on-board MIATA, and separate boards All with DEC's vendor ID of 1011. --Jay++ --------------------------------------------------------------- Jay A Estabrook HPTC - XC I & B Hewlett-Packard Company - ZKO1-3/D-B.8 (603) 884-0301 110 Spit Brook Road, Nashua NH 03062 [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
