It is an interesting idea, but I don't think Debian policy would allow that because you could wind up with a broken system.

See https://backports.debian.org/Instructions/

It says:

"All backports are deactivated by default so that the normal operation of a stable installation will not be compromised with potentially disruptive changes (such as incompatible configuration schema). Release files make this possible, and all backported packages are pinned..."

Hi,

IMO,  I think that debian accessibility needs to be updated as the way
you do it in bookworm is done in the matter you described.  That is with
sudo apt install orca espeak-ng speech-dispatcher brltty -t
bookworm-backports.  Inother words , you would just run the apt install
command targeting bookworm-obackports to get the latest packages. BTW I
think that dirring install, backports should ready be enabled and if
using accessibility, the accessibility statck should be pulled in by
default dirring install using the install with speech option anywayy.

Hi,

At [1] it is suggested to do `apt-get install
at-spi2-core/bullseye-backports gir1.2-atspi-2.0/bullseye-backports
gir1.2-atk-1.0/bullseye-backports libatk-adaptor/bullseye-backports
python3-pyatspi/bullseye-backports orca/bullseye-backports
libatk-wrapper-java-jni/bullseye-backports
libatk-wrapper-java/bullseye-backports` for Debian 11.

I did upgrade Orca 43 to 47 using the Bookworm backports by doing
`apt-get install -t bookworm-backports orca`.
I'm not seeing any issues by having done so or missing dependencies.

What is the/is there a recommended way to upgrade Orca from backports on
Bookworm?
