Hi Group, I'm really distressed about Ubuntu, the latest 22.04. I installed it and couldn't use the desktop, they did away with the desktop icons, and I cannot locate keyboard shortcuts in settings. I'm using it in a VM, so I am not able to do control alt delete, because control + alt delete goes to the host operating system. I guess I could do alt F2 and type sudo killall -u $user but I don't want to do that to log out. I also cannot find other settings like the turning off of a timeout that requires a password. Also, I cannot put menu items on the desktop. I installed gnome-session-flashback and that was a little better, but all the above issues persist. I installed unity-session-desktop or something like that, and it isn't much better. So I'm wondering, is the Debian desktop any better? Thanks for any assistance, if I can't get the desktop right, I'll have to fade out of Linux, other than using the Raspberry PI. BTW, I tried installing Raspberry PI ISO into a VM, and either it didn't install, or there was no Orca with it.
Thanks for any help. Glenn
