Hi, I just joined, my name is Glenn. I have just installed Debian 11.4 on an old Asus 701 net book, it used to use XP, but I put in a 2 GB memory stick. It only has an internal drive of 4GB, so I don't know if I can squeeze Mate onto that, so for now I have the base installed with speakup and eSpeak. I don't know if it is the difference between Ubuntu and Debian, but this system does not understand sudo, I can use just su and become root. I made the mistake during the install of not selecting common system tools when I selected ssh-server, and running tasksel now does not seem to offer that any more, for #12, it only says laptop and I do that and it says 15% and 100% so I typed in 100% and it didn't do anything for a long time, I had to control C out of it. Do I need to reinstall? Thanks.
Glenn
