Hello, FTR, the issue about the debian installer not configuring the wifi on the installed system is https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=694068 the main issue is that when network-manager is not getting installed, one would have to write the wifi password in the world-readable /etc/network/interfaces , which is not something one usually wants to do, and from there it's currently a statu quo.
