I guess you're refering to the obnoxious USB-ID problem.  I don't
remember, did we ever convince upstream to introduce an otpion for
disabling problematic USB IDs?  I kind of remember we did, but I dont
remember how it is supposed to work.  If we have that, we could just
enable that for any LiveCDs or Installer Images.  This would eliminate
the "grabs usb-to-serial adaptor" problem, and should therefore allow us
to enable BRLTTY by default, without major worries about interference.
