Hello, There was a newer version of the Debian Installer. One notable change for us is that in the text frontend (used for the speech synthesis), one can now type the text of the choice instead of the number. So notably, at the first question (choose the language), one can type the ISO name of the language, instead of listening for several dozens of choices. So for instance, just type fr for french. Could people test and report? We plan to backport this feature to the Jessie installer since it's a small change, but we need good testing before that.
