Having them laying around should not be a problem as long as they are not installed (which, I believe, should not be done). At least for python modules, they should be compiled at installation time. See the debian python policy: http://www.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/python-policy/ I have not looked at this package specifically yet, just thought to share that idea. Paul
