I agree. It would be nice if there was Ubuntu policy (doesn't it exist
already?) that problems identified in Debian packages and enhancements
not specific to Ubuntu are explicitly reported to Debian maintainers.
This should be similar to the relationship between Debian and upstream:
Upstream authors shouldn't look for Debian bug reports themselves but
the Debian developer should talk to them whenever needed (i.e. about
everything what is not specific to Debian nor is just user confusion or
so).
