as far as I know, no one here is working on it : Mario tried, and his
requests for help (he doesn't even have a speakup-enabled hardware, so
it might be very hard) were vain. So speakup users currently rely on
speakup team, and what you are saying sounds like they don't support
Debian anymore -- sad news.
