Hi! I have created a quick setup guide which explains how to get Debian/m68k up and running inside qemu-system-m68k, see [1].
When running on a relatively recent Core i7, the emulated will be clocked at over 1 GHz (over 1.5 GHz in my case), so it's reasonably fast.
