Hmm, odd. I did't use a custom kernel but the kernel that is part of the debian-installer tarball here: > http://ftp.ports.debian.org/debian-ports/pool-m68k/main/d/debian-installer/ That was 4.9.x and I'm pretty sure it worked without the quirk.
