Oooooh, interesting. Thanks a lot for testing this. Now I know that there is something wrong with my Aranym setup. Although it still strikes me as odd that it worked with an older chroot. Maybe the kernel I am using is buggy or too old (3.16.4). Either way, we know that it works which is great! > dh_installman: man --recode UTF-8 ./fbtracemgr\.1 > fbtracemgr\.1\.new > returned exit code 2 > debian/rules:217: recipe for target 'install-stamp' failed > make: *** [install-stamp] Error 2 That is way beyond the problematic section, so we're good! > Let me know if you would like me to send the entire log. No, thanks. You tested the relevant part so that's all we need. > It may be that following the same steps would yield the same result under > Aranym that I got under qemu (being that Andreas was able to build > 3.0.1.32609 under Aranym). Andreas is using a quite old kernel last time I talked to him. He said, he's running 3.2 something but he may have been updated in the mean time. > Or it may be that you, Andreas and I have attempted to build three > different versions of firebird3.0, meaning that our results can't be > compared. No, it's definitely not a problem with the firebird3.0 package, it affects firebird2.5 as well and openjdk-8, too. Btw, could you try building openjdk-8 as well? $ dget -u http://deb.debian.org/debian/pool/main/o/openjdk-8/openjdk-8_8u131-b11-2.dsc $ apt-get build-dep openjdk-8 $ cd openjdk-8_... $ ./debian/rules binary-arch > But my guess is that your build chroots and/or their host kernel is > different to this system in some small but significant way. Yeah. My Aranym setup must be hosed some how. Thanks for testing! > P.S. This thread could perhaps be confined to the debian-68k list? Done. PS: Do you have a setup guide for qemu-system-m68k with networking which we could put up on the Debian wiki? Adrian -- .''`.
