My bad. When I added "|| MAC" I didn't realise that EARLY_PRINTK == y by default when EMBEDDED == n. You may want to send that patch in formal style. If I send you a patch to try to fix the SCC initialisation for the early console, would you be willing to test EARLY_PRINTK=y again? I think the correct fix would be a bootloader that disables the SCC irq sources. But a kernel patch would help until bootloaders are fixed.
