I have dowloaded the cvs sources because that was reccommended I think as the best and simplest way to try and use gcc4.1. I *think* this is maintained by geert who claimed he had built 68k kernel with gcc4.1 since last november.
In fact, yesterday I booted a 2.6.22.6 from kernel.org (built with gcc 3.4)
I would also trust Finn's kernels as he is the most active mac-68k developer. or Christian's.I notice you are using peculiar (to me) versions of compilers. 3.4 for m68k and 4.1 as cross compiler. Is this more compatible ? Reason I ask is there was some discussion on the list lately about have had held on to 3.3 too long and why and problems with 4.1 (and 4.2 now as well). In fact, for m68k, I tried to move to gcc 4 but it generates incorrect code.So I use gcc 3.Part of my question was how or why you have 3.4 when I have 3.3, I cannot recall seeing 3.4 anywhere except on gnu website so it may be you built it yourself from gnu ?
No I used toolchain-source_3.4-5_all.deb and toolchain-source- gdb_3.4-5_all.deb
stollen from Sarge to Etch.According to the file I have, I built it in february 2007, so I know I tried GCC 4 at this time and I know it breaks EMILE because generated code was not the good one.
