Thanks for spotting this; has the testsuite been expanded recently to
cover more of these test cases? Or did we overlook similar warnings in the
past?

I'm wondering whether this is an explanation for our hidden symbol trouble
with PIE that plagued us lately...

BTW: gcc-snapshot failed to build manually on washi (with xulrunner
1.8.1.4-1 preinstalled to satisfy the build-deps). Log underway.
