The hard disk actually is 100% error free and works just fine with Amiga OS.
looks like you have ide bus. can you get an ide disk to try ?
As soon as I have some spare time, I will try to do a light install of Amiga OS just for booting the Linux loader on an IDE hard disk, who knows, it may work. However I prefer SCSI peripherals because Amiga IDE really sucks :(
